✎ How to Cite

Citing articles properly helps maintain academic integrity and allows others to trace your references accurately. You can use several tools to manage and generate citations:

✧ Using Zotero

  1. Install the Zotero desktop app and browser connector.
  2. Open Zotero whenever you need to add or manage citations.
  3. Open the article page on the Nabawi Journal website (title, abstract, and references page — not the PDF directly).
  4. Click the Zotero icon in your browser’s add-ons bar to save the citation automatically.
  5. Open Microsoft Word → Zotero tab → Add/Edit Citation → choose citation style (APA, MLA, Chicago, etc.).
  6. Search the article title in the dialog box to insert a footnote automatically.
  7. To add bibliography: Zotero menu → Add/Edit Bibliography.

✧ Using Mendeley

  1. Install Mendeley Reference Manager and the Save to Mendeley browser extension.
  2. Open Mendeley to organize your saved citations.
  3. To add citation, you can:In Word, go to References → Insert Citation.
    • Add manually: File → Add Entry Manually → fill required fields.
    • Add automatically from web: Visit article page → click the Mendeley icon in your browser.
    • Add automatically from the app: Use the Literature Search feature to find and import references.
  4. To create a formatted bibliography, choose your preferred citation style.

✧ Using ChatGPT

You can ask ChatGPT to help you generate a citation in your preferred style.

Steps:
  1. Open the article you wish to cite by clicking its title.
  2. Select all and copy
  3. Paste the information into ChatGPT and type:
“Generate a citation for this article in Chicago 18 full note style.”
  4. Review and ensure it matches the official style guide (APA, MLA, Chicago, etc.).

Tip: Always double-check ChatGPT’s citation output for accuracy. We recommend Zotero for simplicity, or Mendeley for advanced management.
